Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of TradesMate UK and form a contract between you and us. By creating an account or using TradesMate you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
TradesMate UK provides software tools for UK tradespeople including trade calculators, an AI estimator, quote/invoice generation, PDF export and customer share-link tracking. We can change, suspend or discontinue features at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.
2. Estimates only — NOT a binding quotation
Important disclaimer
All outputs from TradesMate calculators, the AI Estimator and the quote builder are estimates only, intended as a starting point for the tradesperson's own professional judgement. They are not a binding quotation, take-off, or specification. Material prices, labour rates, site conditions and waste factors vary widely and must be verified by you before quoting a customer.
You remain solely responsible for the accuracy of any quote, invoice or estimate you produce or send to a customer using TradesMate. We do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and use a real name and contact details.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your password safe.
- You may close your account at any time by emailing tyler@tradesmateuk.co.uk.
4. Subscriptions, billing & refunds
- Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Billing area; you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card details.
- Refunds: per the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you are entitled to a refund within 14 days of first purchase only if you have not used the service. Once you have generated quotes, used the AI Estimator or otherwise used Pro features, that 14-day right is waived as the digital service has been performed.
- Discretionary refunds outside this window may be offered case-by-case — email us.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, copy or attempt to extract the source code, calculator formulas, AI prompts or design of TradesMate.
- Resell, sub-license, or share your account.
- Use the service to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, defraud a customer, or send unsolicited marketing.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt the service, or probe for vulnerabilities. Responsible disclosure is welcome via tyler@tradesmateuk.co.uk.
- Upload or send content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing or harmful.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
6. Intellectual property
The TradesMate brand, calculator algorithms, source code, designs, copy, and all underlying intellectual property remain ours. You receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service per these Terms. You retain ownership of the customer data and quote content you enter, and grant us only the minimum licence required to host and process it for you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TradesMate UK is not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss — including (without limitation) any under-quote, over-quote or commercial decision based on a TradesMate output.
Our total aggregate liability for any direct loss is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the fees you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
8. AI features
When you use the AI Estimator your prompt text is processed by OpenAI. Outputs are generated by a statistical model and may be inaccurate, biased or out of date. Do not rely on AI outputs as legal, financial or professional advice. Do not enter sensitive personal data in prompts.
9. Termination
You can close your account any time. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms or fail to pay. On closure, your access ends and your data may be deleted in line with the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
